App being silenced by critical alerts from another app

I have been having major issues because another app that I need to use for blood sugar management (called Dexcom) is now forcing critical alerts (the app does not function if you turn these off) and every time there’s an alert it pauses the Nanit app sound until the alert is acknowledged.

Anyone know a way around this? I cannot seem to get a solution from the makers of the other app either.
