Android OS and iOS OS Support Update

At Nanit, we are constantly seeking to improve the safety, security and user experience of our app so that you can continue to keep an eye on your little bundle of joy without any issues. Because of this, on January 1st, we plan to discontinue support for Android 7 and earlier and support for iOS 12 and earlier. We understand that this may come as an inconvenience, but these updates are necessary to allow us to continue to improve Nanit and keep your baby monitor running reliably and securely. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at [email protected]

  • Does this mean that effective 12/1/22, devices running off iOS12 and earlier will not be able to use the Nanit app? Or just that technical support of the app will stop? We need to know if we need to buy a new iPad to use sooner rather than later or if our current one will still work for the time being.

@mwittenb When we stop support for those OS versions those who already have the application downloaded will be able to continue to use the App but they'll no longer receive app updates. If the app is not downloaded after the date we stop supporting those OS versions, you will be unable to download the app.

  • Given that you all are taking away means to monitor the camera, why don't you add Os X M1 app support and/or google home support that it can be monitored by other means? It seems like nanit is making itself less useful and intergraded with other platforms.

@darhgadhaews those who already have the application downloaded on those OS versions will be able to continue to use the App! We are looking into additional app support such as google home - we hope to be able to offer that to our customers very soon!
