Sound notification on iphone14

Nanit pro notifications on my iphone14 (latest ios) appear silenced even on loud mode. Sounds are enabled in the notification settings but no notification sound is heard. How do I set this? I need to be looking at my phone to see the notification banner appear otherwise I would miss any notifications. My husbands android phone sound notification works fine
