22 month old with breastfeeding or holding sleep association

My 22 month old son is still breastfeeding before sleeping and when my husband puts him to bed he holds him until he falls asleep.

We tried sleep training since he was born and it didn't work out. He wouldn't stop screaming! It was just too much for us to continue. We were at it for about 3 months. He wouldn't let up and i got tired of torturing him.
