Background noise continues even when closed

I’ve had multiple nanits for over the past 4 years. My wife and I both have iPhones. I have an iPhone 12, she has a 13. The app just recently started playing background noise constantly even when I close the app. The only way I can get my background noise to stop is to turn off my phone completely and
