9 month regression

We sleep trained our baby around five months to help with night disturbances. We didn’t follow it perfectly every night but overall had success with putting her down and getting her back to sleep.

She will be ten months in one week and now has a complete meltdown when we put her in the crib. We stopped rocking her to sleep 6 months ago but now it seems this is the only way she can peacefully get to bed.

Has anyone experienced this type of regression? I don’t want to take steps backward but it’s torture leaving her in the crib to cry before I even leave the room.

@TM1235 It might be as simple as a timing issue. At this age their wake windows get a little longer and she might just need to be awake for longer before going down for the night. If you havent already transitioned to two naps, Id tink about doing that and ensure that she is awake for around 4 hours before bedtime. It might be that her last nap is too late in the day and shes not tired enough.

The other thing that often distupts sleep at this stage is motor milestones! If she has just started crawling or pulling to stand or looks like she is about to, this could be the cause of the disruption. It will likely just take a few days of re-sleep training to get her back on track.
