Nap trouble with 8 month old!

Hi there! We are having a struggle with getting baby boy down for naps. He fights through them or takes disaster naps (30-44 minutes). We started sleep training 2 weeks ago and transitioned him to his crib and this is the only place he sleeps now unless he falls asleep in the car. Not sure what to do. Any advice
